Stainless Steel Enclosures

Stainless steel enclosures are a kind of corrosion-resistant protection.

Stainless Steel Enclosures

Beyond the Control Cabinet: Pure Protection for Harsh Environments

When your equipment faces corrosive salt spray, high-pressure washdowns, or acidic chemical exposure, a standard carbon steel cabinet isn't enough—it’s a liability. At Uniregal, our stainless steel enclosures are engineered to be the ultimate armor for your electrical components.
Unlike complex control cabinets—which are often large, multi-bay systems integrated with internal racks and cooling for PLC logic—our stainless steel enclosures focus on compact, high-integrity protection. These are the "First Line of Defense" for junction boxes, remote I/O stations, and field instrumentation where environmental sealing is the priority.

Why Industry Leaders Choose Our SS Enclosures:

  • Corrosion Defiance: Available in Grade 304 for general industrial use and Grade 316L for marine and high-chloride environments. Stop replacing rusted boxes every two years.
  • Waterproof Sovereignty: Rated for IP66/IP67 and NEMA 4X. Whether it’s an offshore oil rig or a food processing plant, water stays out—period.
  • Hygienic Design: Smooth, grain-polished surfaces (320 grit) prevent bacterial growth and withstand harsh sanitizing chemicals.
  • Built for Extremes: From the humid tropics of Southeast Asia to the freezing oil fields of the North Sea, our enclosures maintain structural integrity without warping or seal failure.

Buyer’s Guide: Everything You Need to Know

1. What is the real-world difference between 304 and 316L stainless steel?

While they look identical, 316L contains molybdenum, which makes it significantly more resistant to "pitting" and corrosion from chlorides (salt) and industrial acids.
  • Choose 304: For indoor food processing, non-coastal outdoor use, and general manufacturing.
  • Choose 316L: For offshore platforms, wastewater treatment, and facilities within 5 miles of the coast.

2. Can these enclosures handle high-pressure steam cleaning in food plants?

Yes. Our IP66/NEMA 4X rated enclosures are tested against powerful water jets. For "Clean-in-Place" (CIP) environments, we recommend our Sloped Roof Series to prevent water pooling and debris accumulation on top of the enclosure.

3. How is a "stainless steel enclosure" different from a "control cabinet"?

A control cabinet is typically a "brain" center—large, often modular, and filled with internal sub-panels and cable management. A stainless steel enclosure is the "shield"—it is usually smaller, wall-mounted or freestanding, and designed specifically to protect a specific set of components (like a terminal block or a single drive) from external elements.

4. Do you provide pre-drilled holes for cable glands?

We offer full CNC customization. You don’t have to risk damaging the stainless steel finish by drilling on-site. Send us your CAD or DXF file, and we will deliver the enclosure with precision-cut holes for your glands, HMIs, or conduits, all deburred and ready for installation.

5. What are the grounding requirements for these enclosures?

Since stainless steel has different conductivity than copper or aluminum, proper grounding is critical for safety. All Uniregal enclosures come with welded internal grounding studs on both the body and the door, ensuring a continuous path to earth and preventing static buildup in volatile environments.

Optimized for Global Logistics

We specialize in supplying high-performance enclosures for international projects, specifically targeting:
  • Middle East (UAE/Saudi Arabia): Oil & Gas Grade 316L enclosures with extreme heat resistance.
  • Europe (Germany/UK): IP66/IP67 IEC Standard compliance for chemical plants.
  • North America: NEMA 4X UL-compatible designs for food and pharma.
