Control Cabinet Supplier & Sourcing Partner for OEM | UniRegal
UniRegal supplies IP65/IP66 and NEMA 4X control cabinets from our Foshan multi-supplier network. Carbon steel, 304 or 316 stainless, with cooling and cable entry pre-fitted. MOQ 5 units, ~15-day build.
Control Cabinets — What You Actually Specify
A control cabinet is the structural enclosure that houses your control gear — PLCs, drives, terminals, and power distribution. It is the box; a control panel is what you build inside it. UniRegal supplies the cabinet system itself, either bare (empty, for your team to populate) or partially dressed with mounting plate, cable gland plate, and cooling pre-fitted — sourced through our Foshan multi-supplier network and shipped as one accountable package.
If you search "control cabinet," you are usually solving one of three problems: corrosion in a harsh duty, heat build-up that trips your drives, or a footprint that does not fit the site. The spec below is how we keep those three under control.
Material — Carbon Steel, 304, or 316
- Carbon steel (powder-coated / galvanized): indoor, dry duty. Lowest cost, the default for factory floor and MCC rooms.
- 304 stainless: washdown, food, and mildly corrosive duty. The right call for most outdoor-but-not-chemical environments.
- 316 stainless: chemical, coastal, and wastewater exposure. We specify 316 only where chloride or acid is present — not by habit.
Protection — IP54 / IP65 / IP66 and NEMA 4X
For outdoor and washdown duty we build to IP65 / IP66 with a polyurethane-sealed gasket, and to NEMA 4X where corrosion resistance and hose-down are required. IP54 is for indoor dust-tight use only — we will flag it if your duty is wet.
Cooling — The Part Most Cabinets Get Wrong
VFDs and power supplies shed heat. A sealed IP66 box with no cooling will cook your drives. Options we dress the cabinet with:
- Filter fan + louvre: for IP54 indoor, low heat load.
- Air conditioner (closed-loop): for IP65/IP66 outdoor where the inside must stay dry and cool.
- Heat exchanger: when you need IP66 but zero outside-air intake.
Cable Entry, Mounting, and Grounding
- Cable gland plate: pre-punched or modular gland plates so field wiring reuses your existing conduit runs.
- Mounting: floor-standing on plinth, wall-mounted, or pole-mounted — form factor matched to the site, not a catalogue default.
- Grounding/bonding: earthing studs and a continuous bond path so the cabinet meets your site's electrical spec.
Spec | Typical option | When |
|---|---|---|
Material | Carbon steel / 304 / 316 | Dry / washdown / chemical-coastal |
Protection | IP54 / IP65 / IP66 / NEMA 4X | Indoor / outdoor / hose-down |
Cooling | Filter fan / A/C / heat exchanger | By internal heat load |
Supply state | Bare or partially dressed | Your build vs our build |
MOQ | 5 units | One shipment, one accountability |

Project Example — Outdoor IP66 Drive Cabinets, 2026
[PHOTO: floor-standing 316 stainless cabinets with closed-loop A/C, Foshan partner facility]
- Scope: 6× outdoor IP66 cabinets to house VFDs for a pumping station retrofit.
- Cabinet: 316 stainless, IP66, closed-loop air conditioner, pre-fitted cable gland plate, floor-standing on plinth.
- Country: Middle East.
Engineering Review Example
Customer Requirement: Existing carbon-steel cabinets had rusted through in a coastal duty; the client needed a drop-in replacement that kept the same footprint and cable entry so the site did not re-route conduit.
Our Suggestion: Move to 316 stainless, keep the original footprint, and reuse the old gland-plate pattern so field wiring was unchanged. Add closed-loop cooling because the VFD heat load had tripped the previous sealed boxes.
Final Design: Six 316 IP66 cabinets, gland plate matched to the original drawing, A/C sized to the drive heat load, FAT with a thermal check, shipped with a cross-reference sheet for the site electrician.
Why Choose UniRegal for Control Cabinets
- Foshan multi-supplier sourcing — enclosure + cooling + glands sourced together, one shipment, one accountability.
- MOQ 5 units, ~15-day build; components ship in 3–5 days when you also need PLC / VFD / terminals.
- Material spec kept honest — we specify 304 vs 316 (and whether you even need stainless) by duty, not by upsell.
- Cooling sized to your load — we ask for the drive heat load before quoting, so the box does not cook your equipment.
- FAT before shipment — seal check, cooling function test, gland-plate fit, inspection photos on request.
Lead Time & FAT
Item | Lead time |
|---|---|
Enclosure / control cabinet | ~15 days |

FAQ — Control Cabinets
Q: Do you supply empty cabinets or dressed ones?
A: Both. Bare enclosures for your own build, or partially dressed with mounting plate, gland plate, and cooling pre-fitted. Tell us which.
Q: 304 or 316 stainless for a coastal site?
A: Coastal or chemical-exposed → 316. Inland washdown → 304 is usually enough. We specify by duty, not by default.
Q: How do you stop the cabinet from overheating?
A: We size cooling to your internal heat load — filter fan for low-load indoor, closed-loop A/C or heat exchanger for sealed IP66 outdoor duty.
Q: Can you match an existing footprint and cable entry?
A: Yes. Send the current drawing or a photo of the gland plate; we replicate the footprint and entry pattern so field wiring is unchanged.
